About
Berlin’s history, drawn from the record
Berlinfographics turns the history of Berlin into infographics that anyone can check and anyone can publish. It is a project of Berlin Experiences, the Berlin history tour company.
How we work
- Every figure has a source. Each piece is built from a research file that names the source of every number; the page reads its figures from that file and never types one in by hand. Tap any underlined figure to see its source.
- Disagreements are shown, not hidden. Where reputable sources give different figures — casualty counts above all — we show the range and name both sources.
- Claims are checked against the data. Each piece keeps a list of claims we tested and rejected, so they cannot creep back in.
- One colour has one meaning. Red marks Nazi activity, and nothing else, on every page.
- Memorial subjects are treated as such. When a piece counts the dead, it keeps a documentary register and names people where the record allows.
